Sheffield Free Wi-Fi provides free Internet to people living in, working in & visiting Sheffield City Centre.
Sheffield Free Wi-Fi is a service provided by Idaq Ltd that makes free Superfast internet access available to everyone living in, working in and visiting the Sheffield City Centre.
The roll out of the network is in progress as of May 2018. Once complete the network will cover 293 streets of the Sheffield City Centre and many indoor locations. The network will provide free Superfast speeds to all users.
The service is family friendly and is funded by Idaq Ltd at no cost to the tax payer or the City Council.
We believe that free WiFi will drive greater footfall, supporting the high street and the local economy, and at the same time it will make it easier for visitors to access information about the City Centre, such as retail and leisure attractions.
Diane Jarvis Sheffield BID Manager
I am delighted that we are working with a Sheffield company to provide one of the best public WiFi services in the country. The network will make the City Centre a more attractive place to spend your time & also provide internet for free to those who may not have access
Councillor Mazher Iqbal Cabinet Member for Business & Investment Sheffield City Council
This will help Sheffield to fulfill its digital ambitions. We are already the city with the most rapidly growing digital sector and now we are on the verge of having a free city WiFi package that will benefit businesses, visitors and residents alike.
